Monthly Garden Photos - February 2014

Here is the last set of monthly garden photos for the blog challenge 12 Months in View. There is approximately 30 inches of snow in these photos. We had four snowfalls in two weeks time.

Monthly Garden Photos - November 2013

It is interesting that it is already November 12 and we have not had a frost. We usually get one the third week of October. The weather has been very dry. We haven't gotten any rain for about five weeks. A lack of moisture in the air may be the reason for the lack of a frost. It has been delightful to have flowers still in bloom and even reblooming. There is one yellow iris plant that has a big beautiful bud on it. Ready to open any day if the weather holds up. But after today, I don't think it will.

no flowers on the Morning Glories yet. The Wisteria has sprouted a new plant to the left of the bench where the bamboo pole is. I'm wondering if it is an attempt to grow in more sunlight so that it can flower next year. 

The Vegetable Garden

The grapes produced lots of fruit but the birds ate them all way before they were ripe.

The window box and pots have been planted, the wisteria is growing well. Still no flowers on it yet.

Monthly Garden Photos - May

 The house has windows with fixed screens so we take them out in autumn to allow more sunlight to stream in during the winter months. The first few months of these monthly shots were taken from an upstairs window before the screen was put in for the spring/summer. This month I have had to shift positions a bit but you should still be able to see the comparisons.

 Some progress. Moved the bench outside. All of the herbs and Creeping Jenny survived. Not sure if you can see them all growing yet. The Wisteria is beginning to leaf out.

Morning Glory seeds were sown in the pots and will cover the wall as the season progresses. Geraniums, petunias and other colorful annuals will be purchased and planted this week.

I began this project last month, as part of an online group. On the 5th day of the month I will post a photo of the same four locations to document the seasonal changes.
